Our Music Ministry not only sets the tone for worship in our Sunday morning services, but it also makes a conscious effort to witness to its listeners through song. Psalm 9:11 says “Sing praises to the LORD, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done.” This melodious method of spreading the gospel often serves as a means for bringing about thanksgiving toward Christ and conviction in the hearts of many which can surely provoke positive change in its listeners.
Our Prayer Ministry aims to ensure that every person that walks into Rising Sun leaves a praying person. The Bible tells us to pray, and we can’t make it in this world without doing so. We teach that prayer should be thought of as your personal conversation with God. We want all members and visitors alike to have such a fervent prayer life that the Holy Spirit has an undying presence in their lives and in our services.
The Prison Ministry visits the Federal Correctional Institute in Memphis (FCI Memphis) to minister to the inmates every 3rd Monday of the month. This ministry not only spiritually equips the inmates, while they reside at the prison, by bringing the Word of God to spiritually enrich them, but it also helps to physically equip them with resources and services available to them, when they are released from prison.
Sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is an integral part of being a Christian. Though witnessing is sometimes thought of as optional due to the false impression that it is so intimidating, it must be noted we are commanded to be a witness unto Christ. The Witnessing Training Class helps to remove that intimidation factor and offers strategic techniques for completely carrying out our responsibilities as followers of Christ.
